Task 1:
Discussing the importance of asset & file management
Firstly asset management? asset management is managed whilst using an application for instance Blender© which is the program/application used and which this discussion will be based on. I managed assets in this application/program by setting my assets (e.g. camera, and light, even different bones) in their own layers, as shown I separated the mesh and bone structure from the light and camera (insignificant assets) in their own layer, (layer 10) as shown below.
 |
Blender* circled: different layers being used to toggle different assets |
I named my mesh, which is the object that I worked on as a main object which was my ginger bread man, although I never got to finish it showed asset management was critical it categorizes different groups of assets if needed and so fourth.
 |
I was initially able to use an asset named a 'cube'. This cube was then adapted in numerous methods in order to change it into character to my fancy in order to sustain the asset management I had to make certain that I had sub-divided this ‘cube’ and to reflect the cube using the mirror modifier in order to progress through the construction of the entire characters form/figure.

After the construction of the characters figure form starting from the initial 'cube', I produced a further asset named armature. This asset armature provided my figure close to a realistic bone arrangement by giving it a bone like configuration variable in mass dependent on my taste. The framework/armature was then connected with the body of the figure I initially created with the ‘cube.’ This asset, armature allowed the body to move similar to the human structure, letting it move in several ways.

selected within the blender application, the "camera"
asset, (highlighted & circled in blue) |

view on the camera asset,
(camera shown to the right) |
Task: 2
I used this asset ("camera,") the camera, does what a its not an ordinary photo camera, this is an object in the scene which can provide another view of what you want it to be viewed, with the aid of the "light/lamp" it can also show a rendered version of whats in the vision of the lens face, by pressing the f12 button, the camera is useful for giving your model/figure another view if it happens to distort in place you cant see from the view your using to adapt the figure/mesh it can be seen if you place your camera at the back.
the camera asset can be moved in any way, you can control it by selecting it and face it where you need it.
this asset is very useful if you are doing any kind of digital media development work on this blender application/program.
Secondly, file management? for instance would be saving a document separate from the application being used, some cases can also be used with an application and produced in result of the program/application used. Creating folders, distributing files is useful when saving many separate files, side projects or even separate projects. I didn't use "file management" as effective as I could have, because I didn't think that I didn't need to worry about it, towards the end of the this assessment using blender and also after effects it showed that file management is vital, I was lost at times because I didn't know which was the most updated version of the file with my project, I learnt that naming files is important when undertaking projects via several applications or just simple digital media outcomes.
 |
Blender* also an example where some cases files are saved within the application used, also as you can see my file naming decisions
were not a strength and created a minor struggle/confusion |
Effective and appropriate asset management and file management in the development of digital media outcome is vital, personally I know I failed to show basic file management leaving files named "untitled" because I didn't think it was critical if I did so... then I had to save my project if I never wanted to lose progress every time I had worked on it or revised it, this goes to show basic file management like naming files & creating folders are useful which is something I have taken in and will apply whenever undertaking digital media outcomes, or even for other commitments like school subjects.
Basically in general, its very effective to apply ordering/naming your files & documents because it looks more professional, and is easier to apply yourself if the title of your documents are used efficiently, filing and management of grouping documents in separate files are useful when working with separate digital media outcome programs.
